JOB TITLE: Home Health Aide [including STNA, CNA, HHA, PCA, DSP/DODD]

  • WHO SHOULD APPLY:

CARE LOCATION & TRAVEL:

  • Local Travel Requirements : MUST be willing to serve clients in Gnadenhutten, OH and throughout Tuscarawas County (~30-min radius) and surrounding areas
  • 45–60 min radius preferred ("road warriors" receive priority)
    • May also be required for anyone seeking Full-Time schedules, plus adjacent counties (not required)
  • Reliable transportation required

SCHEDULE TYPES AVAILABLE: Weekday Evenings + Weekends (flexible daytime + evenings)

  • Weekday Evenings
    • Typical Evening shifts: ~3-7PM start / 10PM-3AM end time (single clients)
  • Weekends
    • Typical Day shifts: ~6-10 AM start / ~12-5 PM end (incl. single or multiple clients)
    • Typical Evening shifts: ~3-6 PM start / ~9-11 PM end (incl. single or multiple clients)
    • Options: Sat, Sun, both days (Sat + Sun), or every other weekend (1 or both days)
    • Some roles may include transporting clients (requires excellent driving record + HCN-supported insurance)

EMPLOYMENT TYPES AVAILABLE | Long-term / 2+ year commitments for all types is preferred:

  • Part-Time: ~10–20 hrs/week (up to 31/wk)
  • Full-Time: 32-40 and 40+ (if OT desired).
    • New hires start at PT and build to full schedule within ~30 days.
  • Weekly pay (on Fridays) including paid onboarding and training.
  • Caregivers committed to long-term (2+ year) employment are preferred.

COMPENSATION (incl. +$1/hr additional pay for Evening/Weekend availability) :

  • Certified Caregivers with qualified experience start at $17 - $20 per hour
  • Non-Certified or First-Time Caregivers start at $16 - $18 per hour

*Pay Rate is based on employee qualifications and certifications, experience, schedule and travel availability, skill specializations, positive employment history, and overall client & team fit.

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly-skilled, compassionate, and professional Evening + Weekend Home Health Aide (STNA or CNA highly desired | experienced HHA, CHHA, DSP, or PCA will also be considered) to join our home health agency and provide hands-on personal care and support to clients in Gnadenhutten, OH, and surrounding areas of Tuscarawas County.

Responsibilities

  • Personal Care & Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including safe transfers plus mobility and positioning support
  • Support safe use of assistive devices (walkers, wheelchairs, lifts)
  • Nutrition & Meal Support

  • Homemaking & Environmental Support (IADLs) including light housekeeping, errands, and tasks required to maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment

  • Community Engagement & Appointment Support, Coordination, and (in approved situations) Transportation

  • Basic Health and Safety Monitoring

  • Care Plan Implementation

  • Dementia & Behavioral Support (if applicable)

  • Pro-active observation and excellent electronic documentation
  • Client Rights, Dignity & Confidentiality

  • Total Care Team Collaboration
  • Ongoing Training & Certification Requirements

Requirements / Non-Negotiables

Job-Related

  • Minimum of 1 year paid in-home care or caregiving experience (STNA/CNA certification in lieu of experience will be considered)
  • Successful completion of all agency-provided HHA/PCA orientation, skills tests and competency evaluations.
    • Willingness and timely compliance to maintain all ongoing Training & Certification Requirements
  • Active CPR + FA certification and documentation of both (+ proof/documentation) - or willingness to complete through HCN within 2 weeks / prior to hire
    • Medication Administration Certification is highly preferred
  • Willing and able to regularly perform all physical demands of home care (including lifting/carrying up to 30–50 lbs. occasionally).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (not required)

  • Experience with:
    • G-tubes / feeding support
    • Hoyer Lifts
    • Seizure protocols
    • Behavioral health or crisis response
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Active STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) or CNA certification, or previous home health aide certification
  • Previous home health experience (1-3 years)
  • Familiarity with Medicaid waiver services

A successful Home Health Aide provides personal care services under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Therapist in their region. You will be assigned to specific clients by the Registered Nurse or other appropriate professionals and perform services for clients as necessary to maintain personal comfort and safety in their home.
