Job Description

StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Virginia Health System, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in a part-time role. As a NICU RN, you will provide specialized, evidence-based nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns, closely monitoring their condition, administering medications and treatments, and operating advanced neonatal equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and infusion pumps. You will collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and a multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes for our most vulnerable patients. In this role, you will perform thorough assessments, interpret clinical data, document care accurately in the electronic medical record, and respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient status. You will support and educate families, providing clear communication, emotional support, and guidance on infant care, discharge planning, and follow-up needs, while demonstrating compassion and cultural sensitivity. The NICU environment is fast-paced and highly technical, requiring strong critical thinking, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex patients. Ideal candidates will bring prior NICU or high-acuity pediatric experience, comfort with rapidly changing clinical situations, and a commitment to continuous learning and adherence to best practices and hospital policies.
