Job Description

Security Manager

To direct the daily operations of the security department. Act as the primary trainer of new security officers. Conduct refresher training on security operations and procedures for security staff. Perform safety and security audits of all hotel operations. Plan staffing levels based on hotel operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Key Activities)

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • Direct the daily operations of security department.
  • Reviews all daily written logs and documents produced by Security Officers for accuracy, timeliness and completeness. These include but are not limited to daily activity reports, lost and found entries and security incident reports.
  • Manage Lost and Found operations including collection, documentation, returns, storage and disposal of unclaimed items.
  • Conduct weekly, monthly and annual safety inspections maintaining required documentation.
  • Process new employee onboarding including entry into Salto, PremiSys and issuance of access cards.
  • Manage and update employee vehicle registration and vehicle database.
  • Oversee issuance of employee lockers and maintains the locker database.
  • Make follow-up contact with guests, when required.
  • Liaison for VIP guests and security detail.
  • Proficient in the operations of all life safety systems in the hotel.

Other Standard Responsibilities - Experience

At least three years of experience in a hotel/corporate security field, with a minimum of one year in a supervisory capacity preferred. Prior law enforcement experience preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Birchstreet, ADP WorkforceNow, Knowcross, Alice
  • Proficiency with safety and security systems in hotel fire alarm, intruder alert in Talent & Culture office, Avigilon, Salto
  • Ability to prepare and review written correspondence.
  • Capable of speaking in public and dealing with adverse people interactions.
  • Professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle

Education or Certification

  • High School Diploma

Language

  • Required to speak, read, and write English, with fluency in other languages

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time, walk multiple flights of stairs, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
