BA or Masters in ECE preferred and Teacher's NYS Certification required

We are looking for an experienced educator to lead a team of teachers in caring for 3K children from 3-4 years old. All staff care and supervise their groups, engage them in meaningful experiences and activities, potty train, and maintain positive communication with their student's families, their peers, and Honeydew's admin team. Developmental goals and challenges are considered every week with an individual plan for each child. Knowledge in lesson planning and assessments are a plus. We follow the DOE's academic standards and use the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold to document formal assessments of all students. Applicants MUST have at least a BA in Early Childhood, and MUST have teacher’s certification or on the way to it.  

We are a supportive working environment and maintain open communication to meet the needs of our teaching staff. We offer internal coaching as well as consistent staff development trainings throughout the school year, helping our staff succeed in their profession in early childhood. We also offer tuition support for teachers pursuing a higher education in Early Childhood.

Honeydew has been serving the Brooklyn community since 1999. We care for children ages 3 months to 5 years old in 5 locations in Park Slope, Fort Greene and Kensington area. Honeydew Drop’s mission is to provide high quality childcare, parental support, community building, and leadership training for childcare providers. Our focus is the social-emotional health and growth of the children, their families, and their caregivers. We believe that teaching children to become independent, resilient, and part of a community will best prepare them for school and life.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $54,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Lead Teacher in an Early childhood classroom.
