Job Description

Under the supervision of the Warehouse Manager, performs a wide variety of duties and activities related to the daily operation of the warehouse.

Overview:

The Warehouse Worker is responsible for completing shipments by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in the delivery area; driving truck or van to and from vendors; collecting stock location orders and printing requests.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
• Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
• Accurately sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
• Open bales, crates and other containers
• Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock, orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received through computer software.
• Working will call counter and assisting customers with products selection
• Participate in physical inventory count
• Prepare parcels for mailing
• Operate warehouse equipment in a safe manner (eg. forklifts, trucks, power tools)
• Assist in inventory control.
• Prepare freight quotes for shipments as required.
• Maintain a safe and organized warehouse.
• Report any safety hazard immediately to management.
• Adhere to all OSHA Safety regulations.
• Manage and organize warehouse.
• Load out trailers when orders are placed.

Requirements:

• Ability to use basic hand tools
• Ability to follow instructions given by Warehouse Manager.
• Capacity to work with others in a team environment under a variety of circumstances.
• Basic skill to operate various types of warehouse equipment in a safe manner.
• Be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep, dust and mop. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
