Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time Virtual Special Education Teacher position is available to support students in grades 6-12 and 6-8 STEM programs within a virtual academy. This role offers the opportunity to engage with students remotely while delivering specialized instruction tailored to their individual needs.

Location: Henderson, NC (Virtual)

Position Details:

• Part-time commitment: Monday through Friday, 25 hours per week plus 1 hour of planning daily
• Academic Year: 2025-2026, starting ASAP through June 11, 2026
• Caseload focuses on resource support for grades 6-12 and STEM for grades 6-8 in a virtual environment

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must hold North Carolina Special Education (SPED) licensure or certification
• Experience working with middle and high school students in special education settings
• Proficiency in delivering virtual instruction and utilizing digital teaching tools effectively
• Strong communication skills with students, parents, and educational teams
• Ability to manage caseload independently while collaborating with colleagues

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with state guidelines
• Provide specialized instruction and resource support virtually to meet diverse student needs
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
• Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate records and documentation required for compliance and reporting
