Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A dedicated educator is needed to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting located in Irving, TX. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a caseload of PreK through 6th-grade students, providing specialized instruction and support tailored to their unique learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and interpret audiograms to assess students' auditory capabilities.
  • Manage and support a caseload of students from PreK to 6th grade.
  • Attend Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings to collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers.
  • Deliver individualized instruction and accommodations to enhance student learning.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and communicate progress effectively with stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Active Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teaching License issued by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is required.
  • Experience working in Texas school settings with DHH students is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in Deaf education and related assessment techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with students, families, and educational teams.

Work Schedule and Location:

  • On-site position based in Irving, TX; this opportunity is not open for VOCO (Virtual/Remote work).
  • Full-time or part-time options available, with a minimum of 21 hours per week (7-hour days, minimum 3 days weekly).
  • Support provided to one campus serving Early Childhood through 6th grade.
