StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Virginia Health System, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on a part-time basis. In this role, you will provide specialized, family-centered care to high-risk and critically ill newborns in a technologically advanced, fast-paced clinical environment. Working collaboratively with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and the broader healthcare and medical services team, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, closely monitor infant status, and respond swiftly to changes in condition. You will utilize evidence-based nursing practices, maintain accurate and timely documentation, and actively participate in multidisciplinary rounds, handoffs, and care conferences to ensure continuity and quality of care. As part of a hospital culture dedicated to compassionate, high-quality patient care in a supportive and ethical environment, you will provide education and emotional support to families, promote safe practices in infection control and medication administration, and contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives within the NICU. The ideal candidate will hold a current RN license, have at least 2 years of recent acute care experience—preferably in NICU, pediatrics, or critical care—demonstrate strong NICU-specific clinical skills including neonatal assessment and resuscitation, and be comfortable working with advanced monitoring, ventilators, and other neonatal equipment. Candidates must be able to prioritize effectively, multi-task under pressure, communicate clearly with both families and the care team, and adapt to a demanding environment that requires critical thinking and rapid decision-making. Part-time NICU nurses at StoneSprings Hospital Center will work rotating shifts, including some nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 coverage, and will be expected to uphold hospital policies, regulatory standards, and our commitment to ethical, family-focused care.
