Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In this role, you will provide specialized, evidence-based nursing care to high-risk and critically ill newborns in a Level III/IV NICU environment, supporting fragile infants and their families through complex and often rapidly changing clinical situations. As a NICU Registered Nurse, you will perform comprehensive newborn assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and therapies, monitor ventilators and advanced equipment, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition using sound clinical judgment. You will collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality, family-centered care. Responsibilities include coordinating and prioritizing daily patient care, maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record, participating in neonatal resuscitations and emergency interventions, supporting feeding and growth plans including breastmilk and formula management, and educating and emotionally supporting parents and families as they navigate the NICU experience. You will uphold all infection control and safety standards, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and participate in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of neonatal best practices. Mission Health fosters a collaborative environment emphasizing teamwork, respect, and professional growth, providing opportunities for mentorship, specialty certification support, and advancement within the organization. This position is ideal for a dedicated RN who is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and passionate about caring for our most vulnerable patients in a technologically advanced, patient-centered environment.
