About Us

Cancer Care Services has been supporting patients, survivors, and caregivers through the challenges of cancer for decades. We provide holistic care that empowers, nourishes, and comforts those we serve. We’re proud to be recognized as a Best Place for Working Parents and a Best Company to Work Fort Worth by Fort Worth, Inc. for multiple years.

Why You’ll Love This Role

As our Registered Dietitian, you’ll provide life-changing nutrition support to oncology patients. You’ll provide specialized nutrition care for cancer patients, with a focus on head and neck cancers and patients experiencing severe treatment-related side effects that can be improved through targeted nutrition support. While this population represents a key area of emphasis, you will also support patients across a broad range of cancer diagnoses as part of comprehensive oncology care. You’ll develop individualized nutrition plans, manage enteral feeding, and support patients and families through the challenges of treatment, ensuring they remain nourished, empowered, and cared for throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary nutrition resource for physicians, staff, and patients, providing expertise in targeted nutrition support.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, especially for patients at high risk for malnutrition, weight loss, or sarcopenia.
  • Manage enteral feeding, including developing tube feeding regimens, monitoring tolerance, and adjusting nutrition plans.
  • Provide individualized counseling and interventions for treatment-related side effects (e.g., nausea, taste changes, swallowing difficulties).
  • Support patients across all cancer diagnoses while maintaining a focus on head and neck cancers.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered nutrition care.
  • Document assessments, plans, and follow-ups in electronic medical records.
  • Assist with patient education materials, presentations, and precepting dietetic interns.
  • Maintain professional development through continuing education relevant to oncology nutrition.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or Dietetics.
  • 1–2 years of experience, preferably in oncology nutrition. Acute care experience and enteral nutrition expertise required.
  • Familiarity with clinical nutrition needs of cancer patients and evidence-based interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to travel between clinics and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.

Preferred:

  • Certified Specialist in Oncology (CSO) or willingness to pursue certification.
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $65,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
  • Mileage reimbursed for travel outside of home clinic.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement match, paid vacation, sick time, and 2 personal days.
  • Office closed during the week of Christmas.
  • Collaborative, supportive team environment where your expertise is valued.

Work Environment:

  • Clinical setting with occasional exposure to infectious illnesses or bodily fluids.

Join Our Team:

If you are passionate about supporting cancer patients through nutrition and want to make a meaningful impact every day, we’d love to hear from you!
