Job Description

SCORE NYC is seeking experienced funding experts to volunteer as mentors and help small businesses secure the financing they need to launch and grow. If you have a deep understanding of small business strategy and financial planning, we invite you to make a meaningful impact by guiding entrepreneurs in developing a sustainable funding plan that aligns with their business goals.

Role Overview:

As a funding expert mentor, you will work with early-stage entrepreneurs to:

  • Craft Funding Plans: Help business owners create comprehensive funding strategies that align with their long-term goals, ensuring they have the capital to succeed.
  • Cash Flow Analysis: Advise clients on effective cash flow management and budgeting to ensure they understand their financial position and future needs.
  • Explore Funding Options: Provide expert guidance on various funding sources, including SBA loans, traditional bank financing, grants, and alternative funding options like crowdfunding or friends and family.
  • Prepare for Pitching: Assist businesses in preparing to pitch to investors or lenders by refining their business plans, financial projections, and funding requests.
