Physical Therapy Assistant Portage Public Schools District 2025-26 School Year Job Summary: Under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist, provide direct care to students using standard physical therapy procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with the school team and physical therapist to provide services to children including interventions, in small group and individual sessions. Ability to work with children of varied abilities and temperaments. Follow and implement the plan for each student developed by the physical therapist. Provide documentation and reports at Individual Educational Planning meetings. Ability to work independently and manage schedules and caseload. Position requires travel between school districts. Possess verbal and written communication skills, write notes on services provided and provide input and feedback to teachers and the physical therapist. Performs other duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance. Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook. Qualifications: Associate’s degree from accredited PTA program. Physical Therapy Assistant License Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district staff and the public. Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment. Proficient computer and document skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
