Job Description
The Machinist III operates a wide range of manual machining equipment to support the production, overhaul, and repair of compressor and engine components while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. This role also manages the daily operation, monitoring, sampling, and testing of a wastewater treatment and recycle system to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position combines hands-on machining, precision measurement, and environmental compliance responsibilities in a fast-paced service shop environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing and production environment focused on machining, refurbishment, troubleshooting, and overhaul activities, including work on industrial turbochargers and related equipment. The operation spans a small, close-knit workforce with approximately a few dozen employees across locations, including a shop environment in Kansas. You will work around manual lathes, mills, CNC equipment, drill presses, shears, and various manual metal cutting machines, as well as a wastewater recycle treatment system. The position involves frequent standing, bending, kneeling, lifting up to at least 40 pounds, and performing constant pushing, pulling, stretching, and other physical activities. You will handle oils, metal chips, and industrial components in a shop setting that requires consistent housekeeping, including emptying waste containers, managing used oil, sweeping chips, and maintaining pallets. The environment requires strict adherence to OSHA standards, the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, and compliance with safety rules related to machine guarding, lifting techniques, and slip and fall prevention. Work hours may extend beyond a standard schedule and can include overtime, weekends, and holidays to support production and service demands.
