Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Legal Operations Manager to join our team on-site in New York, NY. The Legal Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of legal operations, including contract lifecycle management, corporate governance, legal compliance, vendor management, and process improvement. This individual will collaborate closely with the legal team, cross-functional departments, and external counsel to ensure operational efficiency and support the broader strategic goals of the organization. Responsibilities will include streamlining workflows, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

Fund Formation & IR

  • Coordinate preparation and execution of fund formation documents
  • Maintain and organize data rooms, ensuring documents are current, version-controlled, and accessible to authorized parties
  • Support LP reporting cycles by compiling quarterly and annual notices/disclosures

Legal Support

  • Assist with deal execution - draft and/or review term sheets, NDAs, and other documents
  • Track and maintain capitalization tables, rights, and other obligations across the portfolio
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on transactions and monitor legal spend
  • Help manage board consents, corporate governance matters, and the like

Compliance & Regulatory

  • Support SEC/RIA compliance obligations, including maintenance of the compliance calendar, updates, and annual review preparation
  • Maintain records of regulatory filings and flag upcoming deadlines
  • Assist in drafting and updating firm policies

Legal Ops & Administration

  • Manage outside counsel relationships -- coordinate engagement letters, track invoices, and run matter management across the firm's law firm roster
  • Build and maintain contract and entity management systems, ensuring corporate records are complete and organized
  • Develop and document legal ops workflows, templates, and processes to improve efficiency as the firm scales

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong background in contract management, corporate governance, and legal compliance -- familiarity with venture capital deal structures, fund mechanics, or investment management
  • Proficiency in process optimization, workflow development, and legal technology tools, in particular document automation
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management skills -- comfort managing multiple work streams under deadline
  • Experience in budgeting, vendor management, and cost control within legal operations
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional collaboration and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in legal studies, business, or related field; paralegal certificate or advanced degree or certification in legal operations is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in legal operations management or a similar role (law firm, VC/PE firm, or financial services)
