Job Description ECS is seeking a Junior Project Manager to work in our Fairfax, VA office. This position is ideal for an early‑career professional ready to step into a project management role, who is technically curious, organized, and eager to grow in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment supporting cutting‑edge technologies. You will work closely with Project Managers, Technical Leads, government customers, and engineering teams to help plan, coordinate, and execute a range of evolving special projects. This is a hybrid role, with onsite work expected in Fairfax and Springfield, VA (3+ days/week), with flexibility based on program needs. The successful candidate will work closely with government customers, commercial vendors, and traditional federal contractors to shape and execute technical priorities. You’ll work with interdisciplinary teams, balance competing priorities, and ensure mission success through sound project planning, stakeholder management, and adaptive problem‑solving. Key Responsibilities Support the management and execution of projects related to AI/ML, GenAI/LLMs, and cloud technologies Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and task tracking based on high‑level requirements Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, technical exchange meetings (TEMs), and stakeholder discussions Capture and communicate meeting notes, action items, and status updates Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and metrics using tools such as JIRA or similar systems Work with cross‑functional teams (engineering, cloud, AI/ML, and stakeholders) to ensure alignment and timely delivery Help identify and elevate risks and blockers, and support resolution efforts Contribute to project documentation, including status reports, briefings, and technical documentation Support customer engagement efforts to understand requirements and evolving priorities Assist with cloud onboarding, data platform coordination, and solution adoption efforts Required Skills Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 1‑4+ years of experience in project coordination, project management, or technical program support Must be a U.S. Citizen Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI eligibility preferred) Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in translating complex technical ideas to non‑technical stakeholders Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment Self‑starter with strong attention to detail and follow‑through Experience working in or supporting DoD customers Must have CompTIA Security+ credential or obtain it within the first 90 days of employment Desired Skills Active TS/SCI clearance PMP certification or equivalent program management credential Master’s Degree in technical discipline or business/project management Experience with Gen AI, LLMs, or AI/ML platforms (e.g., Hugging Face, LangChain, AWS Bedrock) Hands‑on experience with cloud services such as AWS GovCloud or Microsoft Azure Government Understanding of secure cloud environments, impact levels (IL5/IL6), or classified cloud deployments Experience with pilot management workflows, proof‑of‑concept projects, or technology innovation initiatives ECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of any characteristic protected by law.
