Business Analyst - Core Banking & Payments Integration

About the Role

We are looking for a technically fluent Business Analyst to join our team and own the delivery of banking integration projects from requirements through UAT. You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and bank partners - translating complex banking workflows into actionable specs, API use cases, and test scenarios. Our platform operates above-the-core using Infinant/Interlace APIs integrated with core banking systems including Finxact and Jack Henry, supporting ACH, FedNow, FedWire, and virtual account products.

What You'll Own

• End-to-end project ownership: requirements gathering → use case documentation → UAT sign-off
• API integration documentation and use case writing (ACH origination, RTP, internal/external transfers, payee management)
• Coordination with bank partners, fintech clients, and engineering on payment flow design
• Active follow-up on open items - you close loops, not let them drift
• Test case creation and execution support (functional, integration, regression)
• Stakeholder communication: written updates, meeting facilitation, status reporting

Required Experience

• 4+ years as a BA in banking or financial technology
• Hands-on experience with core banking platforms - Finxact, Jack Henry (JHA), FIS, or Client
• Deep understanding of money movement rails : ACH (push/pull, NACHA rules, returns/NOCs), Fedwire, FedNow/RTP
• Familiarity with cash management concepts: FBO accounts, omnibus accounts, settlement, reconciliation, GL reporting
• Experience working directly with REST APIs - reading API docs, writing use cases against endpoints, using tools like Postman
• Use case and acceptance criteria writing (user stories, BDD, or similar)
• Functional test case authoring and UAT facilitation

Strongly Preferred

• Experience with virtual account platforms or embedded/BaaS banking models
• Familiarity with Plaid or external account verification workflows (IAV, micro-deposits)
• Exposure to webhook-driven architectures and event-based payment status flows
• KYC/KYB, AML, and compliance awareness in banking contexts
• Experience with Linear, Jira, or similar project tracking tools
