Position Overview
German Performance Options is seeking a highly skilled
A-Level Automotive Technician to join our performance-focused European automotive service team. The ideal candidate has deep diagnostic capability, strong mechanical expertise, and the ability to efficiently complete complex repairs on modern European vehicles.
This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles to the highest standards while supporting shop productivity, quality control, and mentorship of junior technicians.
Our technicians work on a wide range of vehicles including
Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volkswagen, MINI, and other European performance platforms .
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Diagnostics
• Diagnose complex drivability, electrical, and mechanical issues using modern diagnostic equipment
• Interpret scan data, wiring diagrams, service information, and manufacturer documentation
• Identify root causes of failures rather than replacing parts unnecessarily
• Communicate findings clearly with service advisors
Mechanical Repair & Maintenance
• Perform engine, suspension, brake, and drivetrain repairs
• Complete major services including timing chains, cooling systems, turbo systems, and engine resealing
• Perform performance upgrades and modifications when required
• Execute factory-scheduled maintenance to manufacturer standards
Quality Control
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose symptoms
• Ensure repairs meet GPO quality standards before returning vehicles to customers
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
Team Collaboration
• Work closely with service advisors on diagnostic findings and repair recommendations
• Assist and mentor B-level and C-level technicians when needed
• Participate in ongoing training and shop development initiatives
Required Qualifications•
5+ years professional automotive technician experience • Strong diagnostic ability on modern vehicles
• Experience with
European automotive platforms preferred • Familiarity with factory scan tools and aftermarket diagnostic software
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Preferred Experience• Audi / Volkswagen / Porsche / BMW diagnostic experience
• ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience with performance modifications or tuning
• Experience with advanced electrical diagnostics
Tools & EquipmentTechnicians must supply their own professional-grade hand tools. GPO provides specialty tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment necessary to perform repairs.
