Job Overview:

As the Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager in effectively managing and operating the community to enhance the property value and resident experience. Contribute to strategic initiatives, financial operations, vendor management, and building positive relationships with residents and vendors.

The ideal candidate should have prior HOA management experience.

Compensation: $75k+, based on experience

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Assist the General Manager in managing the business affairs of the community and ensuring compliance with governing documents and policies
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and Board of Directors to establish and execute strategic initiatives for the community
  • Assist in overseeing the community's financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, paying invoices and monitoring of expenses as needed
  • Communicate regularly with residents through newsletters, emails and meetings
  • Coordinate and supervise community maintenance activities, ensuring proper upkeep of the property, common areas, and amenities
  • Oversee and manage a team of on-site associates to ensure exceptional service, efficient operations
  • Support vendor management, including contract negotiations, monitoring of service quality, and compliance with terms and conditions
  • Collaborate with the General Manager to address resident inquiries, concerns, and work orders ensuring a high level of resident satisfaction
  • Assist in planning and organizing Board meetings, taking meeting notes/ memos and assisting with other community events
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as community association governing documents and policies
  • Track non-compliance/ violation issues, send appropriate notices according to established policies
  • Inspect, research and document exterior modification projects throughout the residential community for conformity with prior written approvals and/or denied projects
  • Investigate and document unauthorized architectural modifications including processing homeowner notifications
  • Monitor the community and issue violations to ensure residents are adhering to the maintenance requirements per governing documents
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, vendors, and staff, promoting a sense of community and teamwork
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to community management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, vendors, and team members
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, capable of addressing issues proactively
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Adaptable and flexible, capable of adjusting to changing demands and priorities
  • Demonstrates a proactive mindset in identifying and addressing issues before they escalate
Education and Experience:
  • Education related to, or certifications in property management are preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time in an office environment
  • Able to safely lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds

Work Location : Surprise, AZ

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day. Typical schedule is 8A - 5P
